The “WOW” Factor

Most of the things I build are used in the kitchen, which really is the heart of the home.  We just had a small BBQ last weekend for a few family members, and as usual, we spent about 50% of the time in the kitchen.  Whether your kitchen is in a small apartment or a grand mansion, there are inexpensive ways to make this room a show-stopper.  Beautiful home décor accessories can turn ho-hum into WOW!

You may have noticed that I’ve recently added a few new end grain cutting boards to the offerings on Wine Country Woodcraft.  I’m building boards with new designs every week, and find that end grain boards allow me to stretch my creative wings.

In addition, end grain boards are easier on knife edges and are more durable.  Many of my customers are actually telling me that with the new designs, they cut on one side and prop it against the wall to display the other side when it’s not being used.  Sounds like a win-win!
