Summer is here and it’s time to fire up the grill!
BBQs have a special place in our hearts and memories. From backyard parties to Summer reunions, these delicious meals bring us together. While food may be good for the soul, it’s also great for bringing people closer together – helping us create cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you like to keep it simple with some grilled meats or go all out with sides and fixings, one thing is certain: nothing beats gathering around the grill and catching up over a nice meal!
But before we dive into our favorite recipes and techniques, let’s take a moment to reminisce about some of our fondest BBQ memories. From sizzling hot dogs at backyard gatherings to slow-cooked brisket at family reunions, there’s something special about gathering around the grill with friends and loved ones. I’ve been lucky enough to have some great BBQ experiences, from backyard gatherings with friends to large family reunions. Here are some of my favorite memories:
When I was a kid, my dad used to love grilling in our backyard, and I would always beg him to let me help. He finally relented one day, and I was so excited to be “helping” him cook. Of course, all I really did was hand him things and watch as he cooked up delicious burgers and hot dogs. But it was still a lot of fun, and I have fond memories of those days spent with my dad in the backyard.
Another great memory is from a family reunion we had a few years ago. We rented out a big pavilion at a park, and everyone brought their own grill. There were so many different kinds of food being cooked, and it was just a big feast. The best part was that we got to catch up with relatives we hadn’t seen in years, all while enjoying some good food.
These are just a couple of my favorite BBQ memories – what are some of yours?
